Giving peace a chance at SLU

Listen to this story
According to the New York Times, more than 400 universities and colleges worldwide offer individual courses and undergraduate or graduate degrees in peace studies. St. Lawrence University is one of those schools.

This week, St. Lawrence is commemorating the lives of the Reverend Martin Luther King and Ghandi with a campus-wide initiative at St. Lawrence University that hopes to foster more dialogue on peace and conflict resolution.

The "SLU For Peace" event this week includes lectures, discussions, student-led awareness campaigns, and a focus on food and hunger. Posters created by Canton second graders that answer the question, "What is peace?" are on display in the student center. Todd Moe has a preview.
