The We Live New York summit gets underway Thursday through Saturday in Ithaca. The summit is intended to attract young people from around upstate to talk about the future of the region. Emma Jacobs has more for the Innovation Trail.

Among the lectures and discussions at We Live NY, Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy will deliver the conference's keynote address on Friday.

Ben Sio is a Syracuse native who helped organize We Live NY.

"This is the time to have the voice. This is the time to have the impact. And this is the start to all that," Sio says.

Sio belongs to 40 Below, one of the young professional groups spearheading the event. Sio says the summit¿s planners expect as many as 400 attendees. We Live NY formed with help Silda Wall Spitzer, wife of the former governor, who campaigned against brain drain from the region.

In Binghamton, I'm Emma Jacobs.
