Waddington takes a small step toward dissolution
Waddington, NY, May 04, 2011 — Waddington, population 736, is only one of several north country villages to consider dissolution. Massena, Potsdam and others have thought about it too--But Waddington's farther along in the process than some.
The Waddington Dissolution Committee has been studying the potential tax savings, pluses, and minuses of dissolution for the last few months, and it presented its plan at an open meeting on Monday night. Nora Flaherty talked with committee chairman Matt O’Brien…and he told the more people know about dissolution, the less clear the benefits and drawbacks seem to be getting:
