Poll finds Governor Cuomo is America's most popular
Quinnipiac University’s Mickey Carroll says Governor Andrew Cuomo’s popularity is at 66%, and he says so far the governor has done everything right- he deftly handled the legislature and got his agenda approved, including same sex marriage, and is viewed as competently handling the clean up and rebuilding after the two tropical storms that swept upstate New York.
“Yes, we like his policies, yes we think he did a good job on the tropical storms,” said Carroll, speaking of voters’ attitudes expressed in the poll. “Maybe we should ask about his Queens accent.”
The only possible downside for Cuomo, says Carroll, is that, "voters overwhelmingly want independent redistricting when the new legislative and congressional lines are drawn, and so far, the Senate and Assembly are moving ahead with their own plans to redraw the districts."
