Can plants prep for winter when fall is so balmy?

It's been a warm fall. Some parts of the region haven't had a real killing frost yet, and some flowers are blooming much longer than usual.
That's great for the gardener who's getting a bonus on the season, but what about the plants? How do they usually get ready for winter, and will the warm fall hurt in the long run? Cornell Cooperative Extension horticulturist Amy Ivy talks with Martha Foley.
