Police were called to the apartment where Phillips lived with his mother on Monday evening at about 5:00, and found him unconscious. EMTs performed CPR and took Phillips to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead three hours later, at 8:08.
Phillips’ body was autopsied yesterday in Albany—Tischler said the police are still waiting for the results, as well as for the results of forensic evidence from the crime scene:
"We have several pieces of evidence that have been submitted to the lab, and there will be more submitted along with further interviews and further leads we’ve been investigating."
Tischler said police are interviewing people acquainted with the family—but emphasized that as of yet there are no suspects in the case. He said his department won’t make another statement to the press until they have new information to report.
