The North Country council, Long Island, Central New York and Western New York, will get the most funding for their economic development projects—a little over a hundred million for each.
The other six councils will get between about 50 and 70 million dollars.
In all, the state today awarded $785.5 million to the councils, for 720 projects.
A film shown just before the announcement said the North Country’s plan would benefit industries across the region.
Brian Mann was at the ceremony, and Nora Flaherty spoke with him just afterwards. She asked him if anyone had any sense the North Country was going to receive such a large award.
