The Plattsburgh Press Republican reports that the 65-page study was released Monday by the Center for Government Research, based in Rochester. It looks at combining offices, collaborating on purchases, and considers four options for providing police protection and public safety.

In one option, it says Malone could dissolve, and create a police - protection district and still reduce taxes by more than $350 for the owner of a $75,000 dollar home in the village.

The newspaper says the full draft report will be reviewed Thursday evening at a public meeting at the village board office.
