Boil advisory in Glens Falls
Glens Falls, NY, Jul 12, 2012 — City officials in Glens Falls say local residents should boil tap water before drinking it until further notice. The advisory was issued yesterday after water samples collected by state health officials found coliform bacteria.
According to a statement issued by the city, it's unclear what caused the contamination. Tests will be conducted today and tomorrow to determine whether the boil water advisory can be lifted.
Health officials say all drinking water and water used in cooking should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute and then cooled before being used.
