The Pharoah Lake Wilderness near Ticonderoga is one of the most beautiful and remote corners of the Adirondack Park. It offers some steep climbs, but also miles of trail that wind over low, rolling hills.

Our Adirondack bureau chief Brian Mann made the trek this week to Crane Pond, a popular paddling and fishing spot. He sent back this audio postcard.
