Listen to this story
Congressman Bill Owens is launching his first TV spot. With just over two months before election day, the ad will air primarily on stations that broadcast in the Glens Falls area.

That's a part of the North Country that was added to Owens' district this year.

“I’m Bill Owens”, Owens says in the ad, “and I was a captain at Plattsburgh Air Force Base. After it closed, I helped redevelop the base, and attract over 2000 new jobs. We can do that all over upstate New York.”

Owens says he hopes to recruit more companies to the North Country from Canada.

Owens faces Watertown Republican Matt Doheny, who also began airing his first TV spot this week.
