Lunch money to North Country schools from court settlement
Sep 20, 2012 — Some North Country and Adirondack area schools will get part of an $18 million settlement between the state and a food service provider. In a press release, New York attorney general Eric Schneiderman's office says Compass Group, USA, overcharged more than 39 New York schools and school districts - including Malone Central, Northeastern Clinton Central, Glens Falls, and Fort Ann.
Schneiderman says Compass got discounts from food vendors it worked with, but didn't pass those savings on to the school districts, as required by law.
