An Election 2012 Who's Who in yard signs
In his travels through parts of the North Country, photographer Mark Kurtz made a visual recording of some roadside lawn sign gardens.
Here's a primer on Mark's finds.
Signs along Saranac Lake's picturesque Main Street supporting candidates Dennis Tarantino (D), a lawyer from Queensbury, running against Queensbury supervisor Dan Stec (R) for the 114th district State Assembly seat;
Harrietstown Town Supervisor Candidate and Saranac Lake Village Trustee Tom Catillaz (D), who is running against Town Councilman Bob Bevilacqua (R);and 4th District New York Supreme Court candidate John Silvestri (D), who is running against several other candidates for four vacancies.
Signs along Route 11B in Potsdam showing support for Marc Butler (R), State Assemblyman for New York's 117th District. Butler is being challenged in the race by Democrat and Herkimer County Legislator Dan Carter.
These signs also promote the candidacies of 45th District State Senator Betty Little (R), who's being challenged for that seat by, well, no one: she's running unopposed;Matt Doheny (R), challenging incumbent Bill Owens (D) for the 23rd District US Congressional seat.
John Ellis and Felix Catena are among the candidates running for four vacancies on the New York Supreme Court.Signs along Route 458 near St. Regis Falls supporting Matt Doheny, John Ellis, and Mitt Romney (R), who's facing President Barack Obama (D) in next week's election, and running mate Paul Ryan.

Signs lining Route 3 just outside Bloomingdale showing support for Romney-Ryan; 4th District Supreme Court candidate Thomas Buchanan; US Senate candidate Wendy Long (R), who is seeking the seat held by incumbent Kirsten Gillibrand (D); Matt Doheny; and Betty Little.

On the corner of Main and Maple Streets in Bloomingdale, a myriad of signs show support for Romney-Ryan, Dan Stec, both Matt Doheny and Bill Owens, Dennis Tarantino, and Wendy Long.
