Nov 06, 2012 — Jefferson County voters Kent Collier, of Evans Mills, Stephen LaFontaine, of Chaumont, Sue Lail, of Cape Vincent, and Jeff Miller, of Evans Mills, talk about what candidates and issues motivated their votes on Election Day.
"Hi I’m Kent Collier, I’m from Evans Mills. I voted for Barack Obama today, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Bill Owens. I’m most interested in economic issues. The Democratic Party seems like they were given a raw deal in 2008, and they’ve taken some years to correct the problem. And you finally see thing heading in the right direction now, so I’m going to give them another chance."
"My name is Steve LaFontaine, and I’m Chaumont, New York. I voted for Mitt Romney, I think we need a change in our government. The economy is going downhill, we need to get the economy going, we need jobs for people. That’s kind of what we really need to strive for right now."
"Hi my name is Sue Lail, and I’m a registered Democrat, and I’m very excited to vote for Barack Obama. The Democrats have the ability to handle the economy, because I think they are more in touch. They seem to be more, closely able to identify with the middle class."
"Hi my name is Jeff Miller. I’m from Evans Mills, New York. Today I cast my ballot for Mitt Romney. I’m also a long time, strong supporter of Matt Doheny. He has a plan for improving the economy in the upstate area, and he’s also an opponent of Obamacare as I am also."
