Salvation Army: Volunteers and Donations Down This Holiday Season

North Country officers of the Salvation Army say donations and the number of volunteers are lagging this season, more so than in recent times. In Watertown, the number of families asking for assistance during the holidays is up, while donations are down. In Ogdensburg, money and volunteers are also scarce. Captain Charles Whitacre attributes poor economic conditions with the decrease in offerings.
