Cuomo confident of accord on Mohawk land claim

During his visit to Plattsburgh last week, Governor Andrew Cuomo said he's confident that talks with the Mohawk community will reach an accord over land issues in the North Country.

"I'm an optimist by nature. I couldn't be governor of this state if I wasn't an optimist right? And I believe the talks with the Mohawks are gonna go well."

Last month Cuomo inked a deal over casino revenues with the Mohawk tribe. Leaders of the St. Regis Mohawks have said they hope the next round of talks will end a long dispute over 12,000 acres of land in Franklin and St. Lawrence Counties.
