Jul 18, 2013 — Lt. Governor Bob Duffy is expected to be in Newcomb today for a meeting of the Adirondack Common Ground Alliance. The group meets each year to talk about ways that different factions in the Park can partner on projects.
Willie Janeway, head of the Adirondack Council, said yesterday on the public radio program Capital Pressroom,"There’s a lot more that we agree on than we disagree on and sometimes there are still passionate disagreement on some things, but by identifying areas where there’s common ground, protecting clean water, wild lands, and economic progress for communities, things like broad band. The alliance and the people that are part of it have really moved the Adirondacks forward in a very positive way."
The Common Ground Alliance meeting gets underway this morning at 8:30 at Newcomb's school. Brian Mann will be there and will have a full report tomorrow morning during The Eight O'clock Hour.
