Cuomo in Adirondacks today for New York Rising meeting

Governor Andrew Cuomo will be in the Adirondacks later this morning for a meeting of the New York Rising Committee.

That's a group that formed to help local communities recover from tropical storms Irene and Sandy. More than a hundred towns across New York state are dividing up roughly $750 million in flood and storm recovery aid.

The governor will take part in a session at 10:30 this morning at the Jay town hall in Ausable Forks.  Jay was one of the towns hit hardest by flooding during tropical storm Irene, when the Ausable River exploded from its banks.

Brian Mann will have more on the governor's visit tomorrow during Morning Edition and The Eight O'clock Hour.
