Candidate Mike Zurlo claimed victory last night and appears to be leading by about 400 votes in the unofficial tally.

But Jeff Gildersleeve, who currently works for the Warren County sheriff's department, hasn't yet conceded and there are roughly 500 absentee ballots still to be counted.

Gildersleeve drew headlines this summer when he announced that, if elected, he wouldn't enforce New York's tough new gun control law.

Zurlo has also criticized the SAFE Act, but said that he would enforce the state law.
