An investigation by NCPR has found CSX is shipping hazardous liquids like crude oil through Canton and other towns, using tankers federal regulators deemed "inadequate" two decades ago.

And a VT company hopes to build a new pipeline that would feed natural gas underneath Lake Champlain to the International Paper mill in Ticonderoga. A lingering question on the New York side of the lake is whether this pipeline will benefit consumers other than International Paper.

Three North Country communities were awarded grant money from New York State yesterday to address contaminated sites called brownfields. New York's Public Service Commission - or PSC - is accused of lacking transparency.

Police have arrested a Fort Drum soldier for allegedly making the threat that led the Indian River School District to put its buildings on lockdown Wednesday.
