NY expected to get snow, ice from storm system

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) Police agencies are advising commuters to allow some extra time as a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing drizzle spreads across upstate New York.

The National Weather Service has posted winter weather advisories from Buffalo through Albany area and south throughout the Hudson Valley through Monday morning.

Not much snow is forecast, but the weather service says sleet and freezing rain could make roads slippery.

The precipitation is expected to change over to plain rain by early Monday afternoon as temperatures rise above freezing.
