Cuomo commission on NY taxes to issue report

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) One of Gov. Andrew Cuomo's tax commissions is expected to release its report as early as Tuesday.

The report could help shape the tax cut Cuomo is promising for 2014. Cuomo supports a state-subsidized cut in local property taxes that could be tied to household income so poorer and middle class families would see more of a break than wealthier households.

One member of Cuomo's tax cut commission is former Republican Gov. George Pataki who seeks a cut in the personal income tax.

Cuomo says he's not looking to cut the income tax in 2014.

Another Cuomo tax commission is looking at the state's complex tax code with an eye to making the tax brackets fairer for New Yorkers in all income brackets.
