Kingston building fire prompts evacuation, helicopter rescue

KINGSTON, Ont. A number of Kingston residents hope to return home today after being evacuated due to a massive fire.

The blaze broke out yesterday afternoon in an apartment building under construction and trapped a crane operator high above the blaze for more than an hour. A military helicopter crew rescued the man from his perch and police say he suffered only minor injuries.
