A local Winter Carnival with global glitz

Along with the Winter Games in Sochi, the Travel Channel is pointing to Saranac Lake as one of the must-see destinations around the world in February.

That's because of the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival and the famous ice palace, which is spectacular this year. Coming up this weekend is a packed schedule, with the parade, the fireworks show, and much more.

Andy Flynn is a volunteer who first proposed this year's Celtic theme for the Winter Carnival.

He also wrote the history of the annual event called Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Memories.  He sat down to talk with our Adirondack bureau chief Brian Mann.
