Feb 13, 2003 — Governor Pataki has announced that he'd like to reduce the state workforce by 5,000 jobs, in order to help close the combined $11.5 billion dollar budget deficit. At a budget hearing, lawmakers asked Governor Pataki's commissioners whether that number would be achieved through layoffs. Karen Dewitt reports.
