Stefanik says she’s been travelling the vast 21st Congressional district five days a week. She says she been hearing about the need for more jobs in the North Country and more change in DC. "There is heightened frustration with Washington dysfunction from both sides of the aisle. That is where you’re seeing some of the anti-incumbent sentiment coming from," says Stefanik. "I think Obamacare and the frustration with the implementation and some of the cancellations that have resulted from Obamacare are going to be a big issue this election cycle."

Stefanik is a newcomer to North Country politics. She’s been living in Willsboro in Essex County for just over a year.

She’s locked in a bid for the GOP line with Jefferson County native Matt Doheny and St. Lawrence County conservative Joseph Gilbert.
