Officials from the Sheriff’s office, as well as more than half a dozen rescue crews, worked unsuccessfully to find Mullings Sunday night, responding to the 911 call made by a passerby. The crews reconvened early Monday morning, and at 11:25 a.m. divers recovered Mullings’s body.

St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office Detectives plan to continue the investigation. Sheriff Wells advises people that water levels are still high, ”currents are swift, temperatures are still very cold, and people need to make good decisions, exercise the proper cautions.”
