The village festival is going on all weekend and includes music, vendors, paddle sports demonstrations and an antique car show.

The event is organized by the Adirondack Mountain Club, state Department of Environmental Conservation and the Northville Merchants' Association. It marks the extension of the Northville-Placid Trail from the intersection of Route 30 and Bridge Street just outside the village to Waterfront Park just off Main Street in Northville.

A new archway marks the trailhead.
