State police investigate dog killing in Tupper Lake

State Police in Tupper Lake say an investigation is underway into a possible animal cruelty case.

According to a statement, individuals reported finding a German Shepherd that had been drowned intentionally with a cinder block tied by a rope to its neck.

Police say the dog was apparently killed in Tupper Lake around the beginning of June.   Tupper Lake Police and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation are assisting in the investigation. 

Trooper Reinaldo Alvarez told the Valley News Newspaper that boaters discovered the dog's body June 19th and reported it to police the next day.

Anyone with information about the dog's death is asked to call 518-897-2000.
