5 rescued after boat capsizes near Cape Vincent

CAPE VINCENT, N.Y. (AP) The Coast Guard has rescued five people from the St. Lawrence Seaway near Cape Vincent after their boat hit a large wake and capsized.

Officials say a Coast Guard crew stationed at Alexandria Bay saw the 19-foot boat hit the wake around 9:30 Saturday night, throwing the boaters into the water. None were wearing life jackets.
