Mar 20, 2003 — As the nation prepares for war with Iraq, our attention is centered on the conflict in the Middle East. But back home, some social organizations are waging their own war on poverty and hunger. Today is Hunger Awareness Day and groups like the Hunger Action Network want to remind people that nearly 4 million New Yorkers suffer from hunger each year. Jody Tosti reports.
