Mar 26, 2003 — Earlier this month, David Sommerstein sat down with a group of soldiers waiting for war. They were members of the 4th battalion, 31st Infantry, known as the Polar Bears on the base. They are still at Fort Drum, still waiting. But with the war in Iraq underway, escalating as soldiers approach Baghdad, we thought we would listen again to parts of the conversation.
