Mar 07, 2001 — It's March in the North Country and that means its time to put on your bathing suit and go for a swim. Sounds crazy, but for seven straight years, that's just what some daring dippers have done to help support emergency medical services across St. Lawrence County. Jody Tosti spent the day at the Raquette River, trying to keep warm while watching the Polar Bear Dive:
The annual fundraiser is held at the Shoreline Restaurant and benefits a different St. Lawrence County emergency medical service each year. This year, dippers brought in more than $6,000 for the Potsdam Rescue Squad.
