Mar 26, 2001 — Jackie Day, Director of the Adirondack Museum since 1992, is stepping down to become President and CEO of the Long Island Museum of American Art, History and Carriages in Stony Brook, New York. The Long Island Museum is know for exhibitions on history and art, and for its collection of carriages. During her tenure at the Adirondack Museum, Day provided leadership for the museum's first capital campaign which raised over seven million dollars towards expansion of facilities and endowment. Last year, the museum completed construction of a new Visitor Center, a year-round Education Center and a new Collections Storage and Study Center.
