Black Bear Woes in Blue Mountain Lake

Listen to this story
At least one very aggressive black bear has been plaguing the residents of Blue Mountain Lake. The Department of Environmental Conservation has confirmed reports that the animal has broken into several homes in search of food. The bear reportedly ate a goat owned by a local and has also been seen in popular campgrounds. With the busy holiday weekend underway, DEC spokesman Mike Frazier says state officials will try to trap the animal and move it out of the area. In the meantime, Frazier has some advice for people who want to keep bears away from their door.
