Rabies Cases Drop Dramatically In North Country

This August marks the eighth year for a vaccination program that has helped dramatically decrease the spread of rabies in raccoons and other wildlife across New York State. Bait containing a liquid rabies vaccine is either dropped from a small aircraft or hand-placed in residential areas. Weather permitting, some North Country residents may soon hear the buzz of a low-flying plane above their homes. Jody Tosti reports.
