Sep 30, 2003 — An infantry battalion of the New York National Guard has been mobilized by the Defense Department for service in the Middle East. More than 100 people from units based in Saranac Lake, Ogdensburg, Morrisonville and Glens Falls are among the 670 members of the 27th Light Infantry Brigade, scheduled to be deployed to Iraq this winter.
