Law Tackles Timber Theft and Forest Governance

Environmental groups have been urging New York's lawmakers for almost 12 years to increase the penalities associated with timber theft in the Adirondacks. Yesterday, Governor Pataki signed a law that increases the fines for illegal cutting and keeps control of the Adirondack land in the hands of local governments. Jody Tosti reports.
