Ortloff/Sayward Propose Emergency Relief Package for Medicaid

While the state Senate was laying out a proposal to ease Medicaid problems long-term, their Republican colleagues in the state Assembly were announcing short-term fixes. North Country Assemblyman Chris Ortloff and Assemblywoman Teresa Sayward yesterday proposed a $200 million emergency relief package for Upstate counties. Individual counties would be reimbursed for some of their Medicaid costs, from $78,000 in Hamilton County to $2.5 million in Saratoga County. Sayward says the money would help local governments.
