Feb 17, 2004 — The first Fort Drum soldiers deployed in the war in Iraq are starting to come home. A company-size unit from the 110th Military Intelligence Battalion touched down at the army base near Watertown Friday. They spent most of their mission in the northern Iraqi town of Kirkuk. As soldiers return, they bring with them a familiar genre more familiar in older generations: the war story. David Sommerstein spoke with a group of firefighters from the 41st Engineer Battalion back from a year in Kuwait.
