Mar 15, 2004 — Four people have died this winter while downhill skiing at resorts in the Adirondacks and the Catskill Mountains. A fifth skier remains hospitalized in Burlington weeks after he was seriously injured on Whiteface Mountain. Industry leaders say their sport is safe, if people ski responsibly. But some critics say ski downhill resorts should do more to avoid serious accidents. As Brian Mann reports, a half-dozen bills in Albay would require skiers to use helmets.
