Apr 15, 2004 — The abortion drug mifepristone is now available in Franklin County for the first time.The drug is more commonly known as RU-486. Northern Adirondack Planned Parenthood has been offering it at its Plattsburgh headquarters since 2002, and has now expanded the service to its Saranac Lake offices. CEO Kathie Wunderlich spoke with Jody Tosti about the lack of abortion access in the North Country and why the abortion drug was slow to make it to the United States.
