Apr 23, 2004 — Legislation approved by Governor Pataki yesterday will allow dairy cooperatives to receive Empire Zone benefits. The Empire Zone program offers tax incentives to encourage job creation and economic development. Proponents of the new law say agribusinesses can now enjoy the same advantages that Empire Zones bring to other industries. As Jody Tosti reports, this could be good news for Canton.
