Natural Selections: Water Fleas
Apr 22, 2004 — Dr. Curt Stager talks with Martha Foley about another invasive species in the Great Lakes; the fishhook waterflea, named for its long, hooked tail. Cercopagis pengoi was first identified by Canadian scientists in early August of 1998. The waterflea breeds rapidly and competes with larval fish for their primary food source, zooplankton.
