Dec 03, 2004 — Behind every winter sport, there's probably a founder who was just trying to stay warm and alert through the dark months. That's the history behind one of the more obscure sports - Rutabaga Curling. The seventh annual Rutabaga Curling Championships will be held Saturday, Dec. 18 at the Ithaca Farmers' Market. David Sommerstein came across the Championships in 2002, and sent this tuber-tossing postcard.
