Jan 12, 2005 — It's been a tough year for winter sports. Snowmobile riders, skiers, ice fishers, snow shoers -- they've all struggled with warm rainy weather. Another big thaw is expected over the next couple of days. But even in a sketchy year, the north country offers some rare outdoor experiences, if you know where to look.
