In Ottawa, New War Museum Asks Painful Questions

Listen to this story
This weekend, Canadians will get their first look at a new national war museum in Ottawa. The massive structure has a bunker-like fašade that stands out in a city famous for its graceful architecture. Inside, exhibitions offer a stark and sometimes painful look at Canada's military history, from the bloody campaigns of the French and Indian Wars, to peacekeeping operations now underway in Afghanistan. As Brian Mann reports, the museum is being unveiled at a time when many Canadians are ambivalent about war in general -- and skeptical of America's war on terror.
