Tall Ship Recalls 1812

Listen to this story
Founder's Day Weekend is coming up in Ogdensburg. The War of 1812 is a central theme. Among the attractions are tall ships--sailing vessels like those that plied the St. Lawrence and the Great Lakes when the waterway marked a contested border. This summer there's a new ship plying the Great Lakes. She stretches 101 feet from end to end and is a replica of a sloop that fought in the War of 1812. The Great Lakes Radio Consortium's Tamar Charney takes us on board the Friends Good Will.
