Aug 10, 2005 — A stand-off that's left the Adirondack village of Beaver River isolated for years may be coming to an end. The tiny settlement can only be reached by boat across the Stillwater Reservoir. But locals are close to gaining legal access to a railroad line that would connect them with the outside world.
