Wyeth Closure Will Cut 1200 Jobs in Clinton County
Oct 12, 2005 — The pharmaceutical company Wyeth will lay off 1200 workers at its plant in Rouses Point. The announcement was made yesterday afternoon. The layoffs will be phased in over the next three years. Officials in Clinton County say the plant closure removes one of the North Country's economic engines. As Brian Mann reports, the decision followed a sharp decline in the sales of premarin, a hormone therapy drug manufactured in Rousses Point.
